Aspen Walking Tours

Aspen Walking Tours / Aspen's DarksideAspen Walking Tours is the brain child of longtime Aspen local Dean Weiler.  We recently took AWT's night-time tour known as  ASPEN's  DARKSIDE.  The tour focuses on Aspen's ghosts, murders and mayhem.  Weiler has done his homework and the 90 minute guided tour is stocked with some pretty scary stuff, but the kids will love it.
AWT's Dean Weiler spins a scary tale

AWT had a very successful Summer sharing the history and mysteries of Aspen.  Click Aspen Walking Tours for more infomation and to reserve space on the next tour.  Also, please note that during Halloween Weekend, AWT will be offering a brand new experience, ----Walking with the Dead.  It's a historical journey through the Ute Cemetary, Aspen's oldest burial ground.  If you like ghost stories and murder mysteries don't miss Aspen Walking Tours'  newest offering WALKING with the DEAD, this Halloween.

The Network

AspenSpin.com is takin' care of business.  We are now a full-fledged member of The ASPEN CHAMBER RESORT ASSOCIATION (ACRA).  You can check out why we joined and review the numerous benefits of membership at AspenChamber.org.  In addtion to the all important discounted ski pass---we don't have to sneak into ACRA's great events anymore, we actually get invited.  Scary!!ACRA Connects

ACRA recently hosted their Fall Networking session at The Mountain House Lodge.  ACRA members were treated to cold drinks and delicious appetizers prepared by The Mountain House Lodge kitchen.  We're not into it just for the eats and drinks, the networking event  gave us a chance to meet and mingle with the movers and shakers of Aspen's thriving business community. AspenSpin was pretty well connected before---but  now, after joining ACRA---we know everybody.

AspenFilm hosted their 30th Annual FilmFest.  A wide ranging schedule of flicks wowed the cinephiles who came to AspenLita Warner Heller, Cass Warner and a few of Lita's Girlz from all over the country to participate.  Highlights included; THE BROTHERS WARNER, a documentary about the famous Warner Brothers and their impact on Hollywood.  We also enjoyed  FLASH of GENIUS starring Greg Kinnear in a story of one inventor's obsessive battle against the US auto industry.

A-Spin checked into several other parties and events this weekend in A-town.  To see which pix made the cut---Click THE NETWORK .

Lost Weekend

There was a lot of action happening in Aspen last weekend.  We missed it all due to our previous obligations in Las Vegas.  Sure hanging out with the Dorks and dominating BlogWorld was all good.  Skipping out on rugger-fest and the top secret Teddy Forstmann Conference didn't even hurt our ratings.    We're still top-blog in Aspen.

Security  for the Forstmann event was super-tight and the procession of bullet proof stretch limos driving through Aspen was hardly even noticeable----noid.  Major playas were in town as evidenced by the line up of private jets at the airport.  "Like ducks on the pond" commented one observer.    Tiger Woods, Monica Seles, Linden Nelson, President Bill Clinton, Eli Broad, Donald Fisher, Eric Schmidt, Daniel Snyder and other big wheels participated in the weekend-long think tank.

We should have been there ---but ---VEGAS, Baby!!

Bloggerz Gone Wild

Andy-Party gets off @ Blog World

It was a perfect storm of Brains, Beauty and Bandwidth in Las Vegas last weekend at BlogWorld Expo (BWE).

Click GIRLZ of BLOGWORLD to see pix.

All the top bloggers came out of their dorm rooms for the weekend to participate in the largest blogging conference in the world.  What happens when you mix 3500 bloggers, free booze, swag out the A$$ and...... Vegas, baby!!.   Let's just say the blog-o-sphere has a big hangover.

For some of the participants, BWE was the first time they've seen the sunshine in many months, so they had a lot of pent up socializing to do.  They played through their carpel tunnel,  the de-habilitating twitter thumb and spotty wireless to rage in Vegas. AspenSpin documented some of the action, click  GIRLZ of BLOGWORLD.

One programing note-- AspenSpin.com will soon be transferring to WordPress.  We've got our entire staff working on a new site design, what a hassle.   We hope our new version looks good and has high functionality, but right now its KAOS. Our current blog service provider ( the legal department forbids us from using their name in print, but its SquareSpace)  FAILED to support our needs.  There are no MIT engineeers @ A-Spin, so I guess we're not technical enough.  WYSiWYG cannot handle us.  In fact we've re-named it '"wish it worked", and we call the help desk, the "hurt" desk.

Enjoy the pix.  C-ya online--- click GIRLZ of BLOGWORLD.

LiveStrong Aspen

Summer's not over till we say it is.  Sure it snowed the other day, but a little chill never stops anyone around here.

It was a weekend full of BIG FUN in Aspen, highlighted by the inaugural 12 Hours of Snowmass mountain bike race, featuring Lance Armstrong.  The grueling challenge  was a full-on benefit for local non-profits, the Aspen Youth Center and Extreme Sports Camp.   Competition was also fierce at The Aspen Club, as they hosted their  Summer Dodgeball Tournament.  In addition to all that, The City of Aspen passed out tons of free food and beer @ their Annual Community Picnic.  These events along with miscellaneous party action made for a very full docket this weekend.  What did you do?

The pix say it all----click    LiveStrong Aspen  to see more.
