Nello at the Nell

Nello Balan, owner of the renowned Madison Avenue eatery, Nello,  hosted a VIP bash at The Little Nell last week.   Nello,  in NYC is a notorious uptown hangout for Celebs, Wall Street Moguls and Models.   Here's Nello the man, his wife Elbi and daughter Madison (named after the Ave., of course).

The Balan's threw down at the Nell.  Nello and Elbi were greeted by the Nell's new G.M. John Speers. Plenty of bubbly paired with crab legs and huge prawns kept the VIP crowd very happy.

Glamorous ladies are always be part of the scene at The Little Nell.  Joelle Howe from Dream Outdoors, Amanda Perkins from The Nell, sexy guest Autumn and The Nells' F & B exec Stefanie Cove dazzled the room.  Ms. Cove got kudo's from Nello for putting together such an awesome party----at the last minute.

These ladies were partying like it was 1999.  Pat, Darran, Adrienne and Betsy were "on the list" for the Nello party.

Nello flanked by Mia and Catherine who represent an un-named glossy mag. based in NYC.   Earlier in the season, there was a slight misunderstanding about A-Spin attending one of their top secret, upscale events.    It was all good--- because---- believe it or not---A-Spin was invited.  Were they uptight because "we've Binn invading their Niche"?   Well the internet is a big place.   Nello's party was more fun anyway.

Blonde Ambition

Here's three of the most attractive guests at Nello's event.  Alexis Weaver, Marian Sorensen and Katerina Kirk turned heads when they strutted into the room.

Elbi, in her role as hostess, welcomed Aspen Mayor, Mick Ireland to the Nello party at the Nell.  For the record, her site plan was rejected without a review. 

The Flying Dutchmen

Nello bonded with this group of rowdy Dutch skiers.  Nello's Uncle, Stephan Kovacs was a soccer legend in Holland, coaching the AJAX Amsterdam football club to 3 straight Euro Cups in the 1970's.   The Flying Dutchmen skied hard, and partied harder----and Nello kept up----all day and all night.

Campo chef, Giuseppe Garofalo escaped the kitchen to greet 3 of the hottest freshmen around.

(L to R) Corey, a med student, Jessica, a top ski pro, and Emily, a retail exec made GG's night with their winning smiles.  All three of these beautiful ladies are new to town this season and we hope they're sticking around---for good.

Panty Droppers

The male model types get more play than anybody.  (From Left)  Dave (from Campo), Johnny Aspen and Jeff Gorsuch.   Even in a town that sports a ratio of  8 guys for every woman, these handsome dudes still do pretty well.

Delay of Game

Ice hottie, Kate Linehan is one of the top skaters in the RHL.  Here she's kickin' back post game with her posse ----the sweet sisters, Amy and Lucy Hunt.   Kate was celebrating her Gordie Howe hat trick----a goal, an assist and a major penalty for roughing.

PGA Golf Professional, hockey ruffian and Aspen socialite Don Buckholtz fixin' to pick up the tab at the post game victory party for the RHL's dominant force---- Ronin.   No crocodile arms on this guy.

Extreme Skiers

Matt Ross and his lady, the ravishing Arna---- strike a pose in the bucket.  These two local extreme skiers always attack the mountain with maximum intensity.   

Where's the 6 train?

Alicia Goldstein a transplanted New Yorker came to Aspen to crack the whip for The Related Group.  She confirmed the rumor that she always rides RFTA for her daily commute.  We've been trying to figure out if it's a "less traffic / less impact" strategy or just the fact that most Manhattan-ites don't have a driver's licence.  She's captured here on top of Ajax with her husband and new baby.

Tommy T-Square

Aspen has more architects, per capita,  than any other city.   One couple couldn't lock up the local talent they needed, so they imported, architect Tommy Hine from Teluride.  Here's Tom and his daughter Francis getting ready to rip on Ajax.

Trust A-Spin on this one-----you can't keep up.   Arna and Dina are two of the more aggressive freeskiers  in Aspen.  Arna keeps her heels locked down with a traditional binding, but the ultra-smooth Dina is a free-heeler.  Luckily----- they waited for us at the bottom.

Cherrys on Top

Michael Rosen, Mary Cherry and Ilex Cherry --all from So. Cal., took time out from their chicken fingers to pose for A-Spin at the SunDeck on top of Ajax.  Despite the less than perfect lighting, they still gave us the "blue steel" look.
